Darrick Brown joined the USC SAAS Staff in the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester as the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Student Support Services. Darrick’s primary duties include oversight of the Athlete Career Transition Program (ACT), supervision of Student Services staff as well as oversee the Athletic Graduate Assistants. In addition to his primary duties, he is an Academic Counselor for Men’s Football and Men’s Volleyball, assists with Football Guest Coaches program as well as coordinates Summer Bridge Workshops. Darrick is also a part of the Senior Staff Leadership team within SAAS.
Darrick came to USC from the University of Miami, Florida where he was the Director of Football Academic Services for the Hurricanes. He oversaw all aspects of the day to day academic operations for the football program from Initial Eligibility to Graduation and also supervised Counselor/Tutor Coordinator, Learning Specialist and Graduate Assistants.
Brown went to Miami from UCF, where he was the Associate Director of Academic Services for Student-Athletes from 2012-13. He was also the lead football advisor and tutor coordinator.
Prior to UCF, he was the Athletic Academic Advisor for the Rutgers football program from 2006-12.
Brown is a 2000 graduate of the University of Maine, Orono where he was a 4 yr. football letter winner and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Darrick lives in Los Angeles.
