Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Advising, Kyle Ross has been part of Student-Athlete Academic Services since August 2007. In his primary role he serves as the Academic Counselor for the sports of Football (O-Line & D-Line) and Baseball. Kyle assists the Director of Athletic Academic Advising on many facets of the academic advising component of SAAS. Kyle manages the Former Athlete Degree Assistance Program for exhausted eligibility and former student-athletes coming back to complete their degree. He also helps to organize and facilitate the Summer Bridge Program for Student-Athletes. Kyle coordinates the monthly Student-Athlete Affairs Meetings consisting of liaisons from (Athletic Compliance, Degree Progress, Financial Aid, Athletics Admissions, SAAS, and the Faculty Athletics Representative).
He serves on the Personal Development and Welfare committee and assists in all phases of programming. Kyle is the Community Service Coordinator for student-athlete outreach opportunities. In the past 5 years, Kyle has helped USC Student-Athletes complete over 10,000 hours of service and will continue to build upon their efforts in the coming years. He also coordinates New Student-Athlete/Parent Orientation as well as Mid-Year Orientation for all incoming student-athletes. Kyle coordinates the registration of all students in PHED 165.
Prior to USC, he previously spent two years at the University of Nebraska working in the Hewit Academic Center as an Assistant Academic Counselor. Before joining the Nebraska Academic Staff, Kyle worked in the University of Virginia Life Skills program as an intern while completing his Masters degree from Springfield College.
Kyle graduated from Western New England College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education. He earned a Master’s of Education in Athletic Counseling (Sport Psychology) from Springfield College.
Born and raised in Plattsburgh, New York, Kyle currently resides in the San Fernando Valley with his wife Danielle.
