Kim Gross

Kim Gross joined SAAS in August 2019 as an Academic Counselor for Football (QB, WR, DB) and Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive. 

Previously, Kim served as the Academic Counselor for Football and Rowing at Kansas State.  She coordinated academic support for Football (offense) and Rowing, projected initial high school eligibility, and assisted in on-campus recruiting and various student-athlete development programming. She developed curriculum for Summer Bridge, along with helping spearhead K-State Women Leaders, a group for female student-athletes and staff.

Kim is involved with Women Leaders in College Sports as she was selected to attend the organization’s 2016 Women’s Leadership Symposium and the 2020 Institute of Administrative Advancement. She is also a member of the National Association for Academic Advisors (N4A) and part of the organization’s 2019 Steve McDonnell Professional Development Institute. She has presented at the N4A Region III and IV Conference on student-athlete mental health, sharing her own experiences as a student-athlete and how advisors can help their students who may be struggling. Kim is extremely passionate about mental health advocacy and continues to volunteer as a Crisis Counselor with the Crisis Text Line.

Kim received her Master’s degree in College Student Development with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics at Kansas State and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Sacramento State, where she was a member of the women’s division I rowing team. She is engaged to Michael Furlong, who is the Director of Student-Athlete Development for Men’s Basketball at Kansas State.
