Ricky Coles came to USC in August 2017. He began his work with SAAS as a graduate assistant for academic advising with track & field and football, then was hired full-time in January 2019 as the Academic Counselor for women’s volleyball, men’s volleyball, and women’s crew. He has transitioned to working with football during the 2021 academic year.
Ricky graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Movement Science with a minor in Chemistry from Utah State University. In addition, he graduated in 2019 with a Masters in Post-Secondary Administration and Student Affairs at USC.
Prior to USC, Ricky worked with Utah State’s Kinesiology and Health Sciences Department as a student advisor. He was involved with several campus programs, including New Student Orientation, Admissions, Athletics, and was an instructor for a few physical activity courses. He was awarded Employee of the Year for the Kinesiology Department and in his final year was awarded Outstanding Student Teacher.
Ricky was born and raised in Utah where he spent most of his time outdoors. In his spare time, Ricky likes to teach dance, where he was formerly on Utah State’s Dance Company.
