Lionel Montenegro began at USC in October 2022 as a Tutorial Program Coordinator, providing support to student-athletes through managing the staffing, training and scheduling of the SAAS tutorial team.
Lionel earned his M.A. Ed from the University of Washington’s Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership (IAL) program in 2022. During that time, he worked in the UCLA Athletics Department as an Academic Mentor, primarily serving the Men’s Baseball and Women’s Beach Volleyball teams. He concurrently coached cross country and track at Marlborough School. Lionel received his bachelor’s in economics from Indiana University – Bloomington in May 2010, where he also walked-on to their cross country and track teams.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Lionel now resides in Highland Park, CA and typically spends his free time running, traveling, or fostering animals.
