Mariah Nieto-Boyd is from the Bay Area, and relocated to Los Angeles after starting her graduate program at USC. She joined the SAAS team in Fall of 2020 as the Director of Student Services. She works closely with various campus departments, coaches, and students to ensure all student-athlete needs are being met. Prior to joining Athletics, she worked as an Academic Coach for the USC Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity while completing her master’s program. She received her Master’s of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) from the Rossier School of Education at USC in 2020.

Since 2017, she has spent much of her career within the realm of education working at both the high school and college level. Within that time, she has focused her educational research on the experiences and needs of minoritized student populations. She has done research both domestically and abroad on the educational disparities that affect Black students across the diaspora, and she hopes to continue her work as both an advocate and resource for all students.
